NZ Property Titles
The open spatial layer shows title information only where a title is related to one or more primary parcels; it is not the complete title register and excludes ownership. One title can relate to several parcels or a part share, so its mapped shape is not always a one-title, one-parcel boundary.

How to interpret this dataset
This layer contains title information (excluding ownership) where there is a relationship to one or more primary parcels, not every title record. A mapped title shape may aggregate associated parcel geometry; a title can have a part share. Check the spatial_extents_shared field: LINZ describes false as an exclusive interest over the whole shape. LINZ also notes that some parcel/title associations originate from non-official sources where official data does not support a link; check the current LINZ source before consequential analysis. The mapped shape is not the official Record of Title. Use LINZ Land Record Search for an individual official record; LINZ currently lists a fee of $8 per record. Land Record Search cannot search by a person’s name or run bulk searches. Check current fees and access conditions before ordering; ownership data access is separate.
